Racist in town?
Come now, haven't you seen those masked riders with torches running through town? The other writer is correct. If for one minute think we, as the black race, solely put our great President in office, just go back to your 45 and keep watching Sponge Bob Square pants. If it wasn't for the great number of whites voting for him, we, the American peoples, would not have put Barrack in office. Yes, I like you remeber the stories of my grandparents. Maybe because I received an education and did serve in the military under both black and white leadersip, as well as leading blacks and whites, I do hold these same beliefs. Are things perfect, of course not. But I feel that the white race has tried, and has made great strides toward bettering relations than we have as the black race. Please folks, use your God given brain, and not someone elses Rhetoric.

Who the he ll is still up here lynching, burning, and bombing? I haven't heard or seen this since back then. I see us shooting up each other. I see us beating women because some of us aren't men. No, there isn't any more of the old racism going on, only when it fits the need to get re-elected. The criticism is that his hatred and continued hanging onto the OLD facts clouds his judgement, but then again, we really haven't joined the 20th century yet either. God Bless of of you and your child like ignorance. No wonder folks from everywhere laugh at us.

If you think for one second the MS itself is not racist then something is wrong with you. Both blacks and whites are racist here in Canton. That's nothing new. The only thing is that racism has been sweep under the rug while racist acts still have been on right here in Canton. Truly is not the only racist. To a certain degree you are a racist too. So don't let racism be your judging factor. 95 percent of Csnton citizens both blacks and whites are racist. But racism wasn't an issue in the early 60's in Canton when all the lynching, bombing, beating of only blacks? But now we want to criticize Truly for having a backbone to stand up to those same people who beat, bombed, and lynched blacks in Canton. One thing I can say about white people, they definitely will stick together and they know that us blacks are not. I have heard my grandmother tell many many stories of how she was treated. The rent is too high
No, the Aldermen and the people do not control this city. Truly, vetoes what he wants regardless of what the board and folk want. Remember, we work for Truly, not him for us. Put that crap to sleep. A good number of these folks work for the governement, get checks, so they cannot buy property. We also have a very nomadic peoples in town who have lived at numerous addressess as they cannot/will not pay rent on time, if at all. If these landlords had their crap together, they'd know who to rent to, and who not to rent to. Maybe, when Chubaka Mumblemouth wins in Jackson, we will have some go there to live in the new Jackson Republic.

As someone said before its a right of everyone to vote for who ever they want. That's his business if he wanted to file bankrupcy and have his pay garnished. Everyone just stop with the ranting and vote for whoever they want. Everyone has skeletons in their closet. Arnel Bolden has a sealed divorce because his wife found out about him being gay. Arnel Bolden too has files bankrupcy. But like I said that's their personal business. Who are we to judge. Just go vote and have a merry day.

I love it. After he gets back in, every single one of you will be crying for his head on a silver platter. Questions about high taxes are a no brainer. High taxes means more money to go around to many pockets. Remember, you all wanted a degreed mayor, and Bill Truly is about as highly degreed as they go. Got to give him his moment. Becoming an MD is not something a dumb person can do. But lets look at what his common sense has done to him, and will eventually do to this city. He's filed bankruptcy numerous times. He's had his pay garnished, which he is still under. He's actively under malpractice suits. He puts crooked folks in as department heads solely out of loyality, not because they do good work. No, I see more and more complaining about ole Bill after he gets in, and we need the drama. You won't see this in Madison, Ridgeland, or Flora, beacuse their less degreed Mayor are using their heads and not digging in the pockets of the people like Bill does. Good luck, and maybe the next thing he can broing to town is a Reality TV Series starring YOU.

That's why the US is free. Everyone is free and entitled to vote for whomever they want. If you want to vote for Arnel Bolden then that is your right. I have lived in Canton all my life and have never seen as much improvement in Canton until the last past 3 years. I can't speak for everyone else but exercising my right to vote, my family and friends will be voting and supporting Mayor Truly.

The rent is too high
Dumbass, the rent is twice as high in Madison because the houses are worth twice as much. If Mayor Runnels had the power to give us high property tax rates then why hasn't Truly lowered them. Canton has the highest property tax rates in the county, not the highest property values. I am a renter, and my rent goes up every time property taxes go up. The fish rots from the head down.Canton is the fish and Truly is the head. THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH!
